Define Family. A group of people living together. The same values and thoughts are shared. People who support and love each other through the good times and the bad. Yet, how do you share what your family is like with future generations? How do you easily and elegantly say to your descendants that you loved their great great grandmother and would lay down your life for her? This is our goal during our family photography sessions. To show love, admiration, pride and all the other wonderful feelings that we have for each other, for our children and for our parents.
Recently we had a mother and her two lovely young daughters in the studio for a relationship family photography session. We find that it’s easiest to show love in portraits when color isn’t a distracting factor. I think that you’ll agree how easy it is to read expressions and see the love these family members have for each other when the portraits are displayed in black and white.
Life isn’t just about bright colors, huge laughs and over exposed highlights. Sometimes it’s the elegant soft smile, wide eyes, and serious looks that are achieved in a studio. Isn’t it beautiful?
