We love Senior Portraits!
If this is your first time or your fourth time for senior portraits, we have compiled a list of questions that we hear at the studio. Hopefully this will answer some of your basic questions, we would love to chat with you to answer any others and plan your portrait experience with us!
We can be reached at 913-649-1595 or email.
How do I book a session?
Call the studio at 913-649-1595 and have an idea of which type of session you prefer (you can view the options here) as well as some dates that you are available. A credit card will be needed to hold your portrait reservation.
When is the minimum investment paid?
Your session fee and minimum investment are due at the time of your session as well as any add-on’s to your session such as a special location. All of your minimum investment is applied to your order.
When do I get to see my images?
The grand presentation, our favorite part! We will set up a view and order appointment 7-10 days after your portrait session. All decision makers should plan to come to this appointment since this is when we will be putting together your order. You’ll be presented your images in a slideshow set to music (grab your kleenex, this is the moment you realize your baby is grown up!) and we will select your favorite images and plan the best way to showcase your selection in the products we offer.
I want to share senior pictures online, do I get files for that?
We are very happy to accommodate sharing online for you! Any image that you have ordered we will post on Facebook or Instagram for you and tag you.
When is the best time for my senior session?
Depends on when you need them by! If you have a certain date that you would like your order back by, plan to start the process at least 6-8 weeks prior to that date.
Do you have a real studio?
Yes, our retail studio is located at Roe Avenue and 435 in Overland Park in the Fox Hill shopping center. Our address is 10631 Roe Avenue.
What times are available for my session?
We generally start our sessions at 10am and sometimes go as late as 7pm, Tuesday thru Friday.
I need a yearbook image, can you do that?
Yes. We have a list of schools, due dates and where to send the files to. We will take care of it all, you just need to let us know which image you’d like for your yearbook image.
Can we have my session with my horse?
Yes, we love horses! You’ll need to have a session long enough to accommodate the travel time to your horse. Once we chat with you about what you’d like to have photographed with your horse, we will have a good idea about how much time to suggest for your session.
I don’t know what to bring, do you have some suggestions?
Yes! Once you’ve booked your session we will forward our guide on how to prepare for your session! It’s filled with all sorts of terrific ideas.
It’s raining! Do I cancel?
No, unless your session is entirely outside we will still photograph your studio session portion. We will try waiting out the rain, as our weather can change very quickly. If you’re unsure, call the studio at 913-649-1595.
I have zits, can you retouch them?
Yes, do what you can to cover them up with makeup and we’ll take care of the rest. Every image that leaves our studio is retouched so you look your best.
Can I bring my best friend/significant other with for the session?
Yes, a best friend can stay the entire session and help, a significant other can join in for a couple images but shouldn’t plan on staying too long.
Do I need to know where I want my outdoor portraits taken?
No, that’s our job! We’ve spent years figuring out where the best spots for portraits are and the best time of day for the different locations. We’ll take the time to do a little get-to-know-you and see what preferences you have, but for the most part you don’t have to worry about it.
Can we photograph at a specific location?
Yes, but travel time needs to be factored into your session. We have no problem traveling to a certain place, but there may be travel charges that are accrued.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, friendly animals are welcome. They should be exercised prior to coming in to expend some energy and well pottied before entering the studio. Someone should also be on hand to take the animal after they’ve been photographed.
I love black and white, can you make some of my pictures that way?
Of course! In fact, at your sales appointment you’ll see our favorites already in black and white.
Do you ever have any sales?
Occasionally once or twice a year we do offer senior specials for sessions but we will most likely only announce it here on the website or on Facebook. Be sure you like our Facebook page so you’ll hear about it when we do!
